About the Role
We’re hiring a Lead Engineer to take ownership of technical development and integrations. This role is ideal for someone who understands the GCC banking ecosystem, can lead a team and is ready to build robust, scalable systems from the ground up.
You’ll work closely with the founding team and own the end-to-end technical delivery. From infrastructure to APIs, from system architecture to scaling.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering roadmap and team setup in collaboration with the founders
Build and optimize integrations with banks and financial institutions in the GCC
Oversee core infrastructure, backend development and API architecture
Drive technical decision-making and implementation in an early-stage environment
Collaborate cross-functionally with product and compliance teams
Ensure scalability, reliability and security of systems
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
5-10 years of engineering experience, ideally in banking, payments, or FX systems
Proven experience working with banking APIs or core banking infrastructure (ideally within or for a regulated bank environment)
Experience working in or with regulated financial institutions
Strong architectural and hands-on coding background (e.g. Python, Java, Go, or similar)
AI/ML exposure or interest in building data-powered features
Previous leadership experience in engineering teams or tech ownership
Familiarity with GCC banking ecosystem or Arabic-speaking
Startup mindset: hands-on, proactive, outcome-driven
